Text messages

Clutch Assist LLC ("Clutch Assist") sends optional booking alert texts to athletes and service providers who use getclutchassist.com. Texts are only sent to people who opt in, and you can stop them at any time.

What we text

  • Providers: new jobs available in their area, a job that has reopened, an athlete cancelling a job they accepted, and a reminder one hour before a job.
  • Athletes: the provider is on the way or has arrived, the provider cancelled, no provider was found, the provider didn't show up, and a reminder one hour before the booking.
  • Everyone: a notice if their account is suspended.

No marketing texts are sent. The first text to a number ends with "Reply STOP to opt out." Message frequency varies with your bookings. Message and data rates may apply. Texts are not sent between 10 PM and 8 AM Eastern, except a suspension notice or a provider no-show.

How to opt in

Texting is optional and is not required to sign up, book or accept jobs. After creating an account, athletes enter their phone number on the athlete verification form and providers on the provider application. Right under the phone number is an unticked checkbox. Ticking it opts that number in. It looks like this:

Texts can also be turned on or off later in Settings → Notifications → Text messages, which shows the same disclosure: "Clutch Assist booking alerts. Msg frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help." We record the time someone opts in, and send one confirmation text: "Clutch Assist: You're subscribed to booking alerts. Msg frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to opt out."

After submitting the form, the person sees a screen saying their application is being reviewed, and, if they ticked the box, receives the confirmation text above. Leaving the box unticked changes nothing else about their account.

Stopping texts and getting help

Stop

Reply STOP to any text, or turn off Text messages in Settings → Notifications. You'll get one confirmation and no further texts. To turn them back on, reply START and switch Text messages back on in Settings → Notifications.

Your number

We do not sell, rent or share your mobile number or your consent to receive texts with third parties or affiliates for their marketing purposes.
